The Actor’s Pilot Experience

Elevate your game. Upgrade your reel.

Do you completely grasp the TV & Film casting process? Does your current demo reel even showcase your unique essence so that you can get called in for a role in the first place?

If your answer is “no,” you are not alone. Many actors lack knowledge and training in these areas, leading to anxiety and uncertainty. Here’s how Actor’s Pilot Experience (APEX) can help.

When I embarked on my acting journey, the casting process was a complete mystery. And after years of coaching, I realized that many fellow actors faced a similar challenge. Not to mention I saw so many interesting performers without footage that properly showed what they could do. Or worse, it made them look unprofessional.

So, I created APEX — a program that empowers actors through every aspect of the TV & Film casting process and enhances their marketing materials.

We start with online classes, advance to self-tape auditions, move on to online callback sessions, and then proceed to Zoom chemistry reads. Throughout this process, you will receive feedback and notes from a professional casting director. We use scenes from a produced script to inspire the creation of your originally written scene, which will be professionally filmed for your demo reel.

During the latter half of the course we switch in-person classes. The focus moves to live director sessions, studio/network tests, and then finally to actual film production.

You’ll walk away with a polished demo reel scene that you can be really proud of, plus more confidence for the next TV or Film audition that comes along.

APEX focuses on empowering actors with the skills needed for successful auditions. It offers comprehensive training to navigate every step of the casting process. It also equips actors with a compelling demo reel scene that showcases their unique essence.
APEX offers a balanced hybrid format, comprised of 4 weeks online and 4 weeks in-person. Classes last around 3.5 hours. In Week 1, actors are assigned a produced script from which they will draw scenes from for every phase of the course.
Actors will receive one originally written scene inspired by their assigned script in Week 1, professionally filmed by Rapid Reelz.
The short answer is “no.” Our classes are limited to 10 actors who will be paired up appropriately during the “Chemistry Read” phase of the course. In the event of an uneven number of actors enrolled in the class, the APEX Faculty will cast any available roles from our existing roster of professional actors.
Instead of audits, prospective students are encouraged request more information HERE.
Students tend to vary in ages from 16-50, providing a wide range of scenes to cast from and giving actors more opportunities to perform with a wide variety of scene partners.
Yes, students have the option of splitting tuition payments into 1, 2, or 3 installments, which can be selected during checkout when you register for a class.

Additionally, we offer a refer-a-friend discount program. Invite an actor friend to join class, have them use your name as a referral, and if they sign up, you will receive a discount on classes.

At the end of the term students are invited to book a FREE 25-minute Craft & Career Consult with me. I will review your actor materials (Actor’s Access Page, Headshots, Reels, Resumes, etc) and offer guidance for the next steps on your artistic journey. This is an opportunity for you to strategize with a mentor, so it is always good to come in with specific questions prepared.
There are no make-up sessions at this time. However, should you miss an evening of class, there will be class recordings, plus plenty of supplemental materials and resources going over what was taught that night to ensure you don’t feel lost.

I also offer a FREE 25-Minute Private Online Craft & Career Counseling Session as a bonus at the end of the term.

Unlike my other courses, APEX is exclusively for intermediate to advanced actors who have a strong foundation but need to level-up.

Beginning actors are strongly encouraged to take Art Of Acting Online (AOAO) for at least 3 terms before signing up for APEX.

Actors should do at least one thing for their craft and one thing for their career every day. DAPS are at-home exercises meant to cultivate good craft and career habits while promoting an actor’s healthy mind, body, and spirit. They can include voice & speech warmups, meditations, reading assignments, YouTube videos, podcasts, and more.
