A Holistic Approach to An Actor’s Craft & Career

As an acting coach, my mission is to empower a diverse group of students, regardless of where they are on their artistic journey— whether they’re novice, intermediate, or advanced—with the guidance, support, and tools they need to thrive and grow in their artistic pursuits. With over 25 years of professional acting experience and 17 years as a Hollywood acting coach, I’ve come to realize that success in this industry hinges on continuous personal and professional growth.

Acting in Hollywood often involves deciphering feedback that can be puzzling, such as ‘Do it again with more energy,’ ‘Can you be a bit angrier?’ ‘Raise the stakes!’ or ‘Tone it down, don’t be so theatrical.’ Feedback may also include requests to perform with an accent or adhere to certain stereotypes. This result-oriented language can be unclear and lead actors into a spiral of limiting beliefs—feeling ‘Not good-looking, smart, funny, or charming enough,’ or ‘Too tall,’ ‘Too ethnic,’ or ‘Too much’—resulting in loneliness, dejection, and confusion about their place in this business.

My goal as your coach is to demystify this feedback, which can be clouded in uncertainty, and help you dismantle limiting beliefs. I offer a holistic acting training program that encourages the exploration of your artistry while equipping you to meet the industry’s demands and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Together, we’ll transform vague suggestions into practical, actionable steps that allow you to take charge of your craft and fortify your self-worth.

Inspired by the wisdom of my teacher, Bob Moss, from NYU Tisch School of the Arts – ‘Now go out there and be a Mensch!’ (aka a good person) – I am dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive learning environment where everyone’s backgrounds and experiences are valued and embraced.
